If your pictures are in individual folders, leave them that way. Sammorris was not saying to put them all into one folder.
Indeed, what I was saying was essentially this. I used to use a RAID array and made a separate partiton for each type of media. M for Mp3, S for software, V for Video, X for Games, Y for Work, Z for Misc. It's typically faster however, to just have the one partition and have say, Y:/Music, Y:/Games, Y:/Video and so on. If you want to put the OS on a drive, then make two partitions, but you shouldn't need to make more.
ok got it . now i just have to figure how to do it. i add a folder in portable storage unit. i was inside the psu when making folder but when i transfer the stuff in it does not prompt me which folder i want to place my new stuff in. sammorris i like your concept but can't figure how to get it to read the way you descriped. is the raid array more than one hard drive linked? can you explain this raid array and what is your purpose of using it
Straight and simple, I wouldn't bother with RAID. It's not worth doing unless you have lots of hard drives and want redundant data.
i been trying to do my homework on it and all i really found was the array used to mirror another drive. which did not seem to help me.
