I have some old tv shows on VHS with lots of musical numbers on them that I transfered to DVD using a stand alone DVD/VHS burner. I then put the DVD in my computer and used a shareware software to make a WMV of the video and successfully uploaded this to YouTube.

The shareware product was only good for 10 short video segments and now it wants me to pay $59 to unlock the software. My question is should I pay them the $ or buy Nero?

I want a product that will convert my segments from DVD to either WMV or MPEG4 and will allow me to edit the video so it will start where I want it to and then stop and save the video clip. Any help would be appreciated as I am kinda new to all of this. Thanks

IMHO, Nero is well worth the money. It does the process you just described plus a TON more.
