Media only recognised as 4.3Gb

    for some reason Media of 4.7 is only recognised as 4.3 using A04 with any type of software-any clues? its with all makes of media

    running xp pro

    "Japanese" GBs, just like HDDs. Have you ever bought 20GB HDD that actually stores 20GB? I haven't. Math is this:

    they say "4.7GB", but they actually mean "4.7 billion bytes", which is incorrect, since kilobyte is NOT 1000 bytes, but 1024 bytes instead. So, real 4.7GB would mean 4.7 x 1024 = 4812.8MB. But the thing what they mean -- 4,700,000,000 bytes -- is actually just 4.36GB.

    The evil of marketing... the same people probably thought of price tags like $99.99.
