When I attempt to play something in MPC the following message appears in the window at the bottom of the app:

"Failed to create the filter graph object"

Can't find anything on this in help or searching these forums.

Using WinXP Pro with all patches

No. Where would I find the info on obtaining and installing those?

I just D/L'd and attempted to run!

    Thanks-

mpc should come with some internal filters. Don't know why it didn't work in your case. Download ffdshow from afterdawn.

Get a app called "avicodec" or "gspot" both programs will scan a video file and the it wiil tell you if the file is supported with your current codecs. If it is not supported it will give you links to get them.
