Message Error-Failed to read from the file %s on Recode

That is soo strange... According to the log, the media is not recognisable by the firmware, but it still burnt the whole 3 tracks...
IMHO it's got to have something to do with that Recode file...

 

Do you or Gwendolin have any suggestions where I could download another version of Recode adn try to ninstall and reinstall Recode to see if this makes a difference?

Help i am back where I started adn it is driving me crazy. I tried to re=install Nero Recode from the site provided by Gwendolin.After I did this I tried to burn the same dvds with the same media adn it would sttart the process adn after about 30 seconds the burn would end adn the dreaded failed to read from file error message would appear. I reviewed the error log and it showed that Nero API version: 6.6.1.4 was now installed. I uninstallled all of the Nero applications and ran the general clean tool provided by Gwendolin below and reinstalled nero again try to burn adn the same thing happened adn it still shows Nero API version: 6.6.1.4 as being installed. Try this uninstall clean an reinstall process a few more times. When I tried to remake the dvd by importing certain parts from 2 dvds my machine kept freeexzing when I went to import form the 2nd dvd. In fact I could not get out of NERO or reboot my machine using the Ctrl-alt-del keys.So I re booted adn tried to copy the entire dvd and my machine did not freeze but I recieved the failed to open file error message. Ithe error log shows that nero version Nero API version: 6.6.1.4 is still installed. The error log is attached. I am at a loss adn do not know what to do. Should I try some other burning program? Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

Can't understand... Everything is fine apart from the specific media bit.
Here you have one i done this afternoon:

As you can see my burner specifically recognizes my -RW Ritek.

 

I have had nothing but problems the last day trying to burn so i started completly over. I uninstalled all Nero products and ran the clean tool provided by Gwendolin. For the time being I have only installed Nero Version: 6.6.0.18 which the attached log will show. I have not added the Nero Recode yet. I tried to copy an entire dvd adn it failed and the message was Could not perform Fixation. What shouled I do now????I will not try and add Nero Recode until I can get Nero running correctly. It seemed like when I added Nero Recode it chaanged the version of Nero from 6.6.0.18. Attached is the log form this morning. Thanks for your help.

Binkie 7 thanks for the suggestions I will try again. Is there something besides Recode I can use to take parts of 2 dvds and put on to 1. Thanks.

 

Ok went out and purchased some Verbatim media. Copy entire dvd and it worked. I have attached the log in case ist might shed some light on my previous problems. Should I download Recode and see if I can get it to work with out changing my version of Nero? Thanks.

Hi.
Just got in from work (yeah, i know...) and it look s like everything is fine then... I can see you have lovely Binkie (hello) helping you... We're in good hands now. LOL
Yeah, Verbs and TY's are top notch, but also consider Made in Japan Maxell's...

 

Well it happened again. The dreaded error message Failed to read from the file. I downloaded Recode from the site Binkie 7 suggested adn it didn't change my version of Nero from 6.6.0.18 yeah! Did a test dvd in Nero Recode burning Main Movie to dvd adn it worked. Then tried to Remake a dvd using the same dvds that I used initilly. Trying to import main parts from 2 dvds into 1. Used the Verbatim dvds.As you can see fromm the following log it failed. I can send the log form the successful burn if need be. This is really frustrating. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Permiggs is there something I can change to correct this setup? Thanks.

 

I really don't know... It works on Express... Why is it not working on Recode... I'm working on a Recode Guide, i'll link it here when it's done.

Well I hav been traveling for a few days and thought I would give it another try when I returned this morning. Well I attempted to burn the dvds i have been trying to burn since the beginning of this ordeal. Except this time instead of burning to a disk I went to the my hard drive it fiailed and attached is the log. As noted above I can burn an entire disk in express but I can't compile adn put parts of 2 dvds on to 1 with Recode. Shoud I try another shrinage program and if so what? Thanks for all of your help.
