I recently purchased MGS for GC and when I tested Disc 2, I wondered why I was able to play from the start of the game, just like with Disc 1. Is it possible they gave me two Disc 1 discs with one of them mis-labeled? Thanks in advance! :D

No, its supposed to be like that, If I remember right you can play up to where you get in the 1st elevator, then it tells you to swap disc.

    yep it isn't a misslabel

it work's basicly like this when you get done with disk 1 it ask's you would you like to save you select yes then it saves a file on your gamecube memory card and tell's disk 2 to boot in a certain way

it is just the way the game works
