It will be all the more sweeter when the codes are eventually broken & we're all back on again.
I've no sympathy for U*C or NT*ell or whatever they call themselves. Their "award winning" service is a shambles & they should be ashamed of how they deliver their service. Putting it mildly - it's very very poor.

If everything works ok then you've nothing to worry about - but if they say...(in my case) come to connect a new subscriber in your appartment block & disconnect you by accident, then take 4 weeks to figure out what they did wrong in the 1st place (each time having to speak & explain the problem to someone new on the phone who really doesn't give a toss). Not to mention having to take 2 half days to let the engineer in to check everything (which there was no need because the service just stopped so it's wasn't anything to do with inside the appartment - not that they listened!!!).
And then follow it all up by banging one's head against the wall trying to explain to those fine intelligent people that "no thanks" you'd rather not pay for the previous month of hell trying to get them to plug a wire back in in my building!!!!
All in all about 9 weeks of phone calls - on only 1 occassion I got a smart individual who actually followed something up & figured things out.

You could be forgiven for wanting to get your own revenge. In my case it's basic package all the way for as long as possible once the codes are back. I'll even make a donation to the codebreakers.

And if the NT*ellend people are actually reading this - then maybe try getting things right with your service delivery for a change. Might be a good starting point...

    Rant over.

They are well able to tell pork pies as well.
They wrote to me saying that the system has been upgraded, and that they were sending out a new card for the digital box.
I never saw any activity in the area to suggest that the system had been upgraded.
The new card is in now.
The digital service is exactly the same, and the analogue service is as bad as ever, and Channel 4 worse than ever.
    Some system upgrade!
It was only an excuse to get people to do their work for them by changing the digital cards.
Whether as RTE Relays, Cablelink, Nthell, or UPC, I have frequently found them out in lies.
They had pioneered customer contempt long before Ryanair was ever thought of.
I have no sympathy for them, and I certainly don't wish them success.
    They don't deserve success.
Only for their monopoly situation in cable television they would have gone under long ago.
    As they deserved to do!

Actually - the more experienced people on this site may be able to confirm this but I think that card they sent you may have been the all new singing & dancing card you need to decrypt Nagra 3.

All NT* subscribers I believe got their new cards recently to allow them watch the channels they've subscribed for.

Well I was open to correction but I was assuming that the cards sent by NT* recently was for subscribers to view TV over nagra 3 on the standard boxes supplied to them :)
    Did NT* supply Kryptviews?

fergus are chorus /ntl and upc part of the same company? excuse my ignorance in advance but considering that ntl have moved or in the process of moving to nagra 3 in dublin and other parts of the country, how is it that some of you guys are with chorus and others are with ntl in dublin as as far as i am aware we only have chorus in cork, the reason im not too sure is that i only changed from sky quite recently as you will probablly know from my early threads...anyway regards.

thanks for the reply mossymor but even more confused now considering that upc are the parent company of both ntl and chorus but it seems that ntl users are being affected by the change over now. i guess you would think that both would be affected anyway prob down to logistics and im sure ill find out soon enough when chorus is hit.
