I'm currently running the last version of Nero 6, and overall I'm happy with it. However, I've heard that in Nero 7, Recode has been improved, as well as Nero InCD, which I have never installed. I want to know if I can replace my older versions with these newer ones without totally mucking up things. I don't use smart start. I access each application seperatley. Think it'll work?
I use Nero 6.6.0.18 which is the stablest version of Nero 6. I don't use InCD as it interferes with DVD burning! I have no need to go to Nero 7 as most version of 7 are buggy and I have such great success with Nero 6.
Hmm... didn't know about the interference. I was just thinking of installing it. I'll probably skip it if there is more confirmations of conflict. I'm more interested in being able to upgrade Nerovision. I've heard really good things about it, but really BAD things about the rest of Nero 7, so I don't wanna upgrade too much.
unless you're going to use the new things that Nero 7 has then I would stick with Nero 6.6.0.18 and in case you don't have this version installed then ........... 6.6.0.18 is the most stablest version of Nero 6 and I would update it to that version. Here's how: Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html then do a registry clean up(free registry cleaner, CClean: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?1) and defrag...... then reboot! install package one: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/?539 then install package two: http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html reboot and you're good to go! also I would use better media. Stick with the MIJ rule (Made In Japan). Look for the MIJ on the label of the box of spindle (Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell, and some Fuji)... the only exception to this rule is Verbatim, which is top notch media but made in Taiwan/Singapore and the only non MIJs I will use.
