I have a problem with playing back certain Matroska files in Media Player Classic. I've already done the optimisations recommended somewhere on this site (disabling the internal codec, etc), but it still won't work properly.

The problem consists in that when I load the MKV file, the MPC window becomes as tall as the screen is (but not broader), then it just takes a few seconds, and the program closes (unless I press stop, in which case, I can just load another file, and everything works fine).

The MKV files work if I use VLC, but the subtitle handling in VLC is so poor, and the lack of interface in fullscreen mode annoys me, so I'd really like to play the files in MPC. Has anyone else had this problem, or know what the problem is?
