    ok , i did it :)
    - no luck with dm 600 though -- i think my dvb-t module just faulty
Anyway ,i've got dvb-t usb stick + myTHEATRE 3.37 (Saar software)-picture is great , no SNR drop issue so far

btw i always hated progdvb - PROG was a nice guy and few years ago (back in 2002-2003 ) he was #1 ,but latest versions of progdvb - pure sh*t

    hi guys,

quick question for you all....had great success this morning with my yagi on a temporary mount, with all channels coming in perfect quality, and it was very easy to get a lock and sync.

This evening when I tried the same thing, with the aerial in same place, height, etc, i couldn't get a decent signal at all.

are the mmds signals affected by weather? cos it was a lovely day this morning, and now its dark, cold, and a bit cloudy! its the only thing i can think of that would affect the signal....would i be right?

will try again in the morning and see if it makes any difference!

thanks for the help so far,

    kevin

I was always happy with progdvb for satellite (SS2 card).
Only since using it with my freecom dvb-t stick it crashes regularly after changing two or three channels.

Nice one alec76 glad you got it working.

Told you the aerials were fine from SatandCable.

    Hi all,

Just wondering ig you all could help me.

i've got a dbox2 with andromeda image. update the services/cables xmls files etc. i've tested this out on a NTL MMDS install ant it works perfectly.

Now I got the yagi from satandcable. I temporarly mounted the antenna int the actic.
When I hook everything up and do a "NTL Brute F." scan i can't get any transponders.....
I'm very new to this so bear with me.
Is there a better img for the dbox2. I found it hard to find out any info like SNR and freqency etc...

any help would be greatfully appericated
BTW I'm in Rush North Co. Dublin.

Oh and Gracem if you could take a pick of the tin foil thing you did with your yagi that would be great.

    Chris

The frequencies used on the Yagi are upscaled by 440Mhz.
e.g. 234Mhz on standard aerial = 674 Mhz on the Yagi.
A standard NTL scan will not work.
U need to edit the cables.xml file .

    Ah ha...

    i think i get it...
I got into the service menu of the pace box in my father set-up and the default freq is 258.

So that would mean 698 is the starting point right.

or should I just add 440 to every freq in the NTL brutef. entry in the cables.xml.

    thanks for your help
i'll give all a go tomorrow and let you all know how I get on

    Hi.
Does anybody know if it is possible to receive MMDS from Chorus or NTL in North Kildare. eg Celbridge/Maynooth area. I am out of the reach for cable. If it can be received. What aerial would you suggest.

are you getting a signal, you really need to be accurate with the positioning of the antenna.

right this is the thing. I'm gauging off a neibhours mmds aerial.

WHats the best way to cek for signal, bar doing transponder search.
I found "LCD Cable Check" in the menu of the dbox. is that the one to use.
really starting to pull my hair out on this one. it's like swimming in the ocean blind folded......

You need one valid channel to fine adjust the aerial via the BER numbers at a dbox.
Check if you use the right polarisation at the aerial.

than voila i got a signal.....picked up about 80 channels.......some are choppy and the BER is sighly high.

so i'll get back up there tomorrow and do some more testing.

thanks one and all for the help.
    it's been a leraning exterience..

Hey monks have you got the aerial mounted inside?

youve done well if you have. Also you should always try to use a proper mount otherwise its like a satellite dish you will struggle with reception

    :)
