    Hi all,

In the west cork area and I'm trying to get my box-t working with my mmds aerial. The aeriel is an older chorus aerial which should have the downconverter connected already from reading the forums. I have just connected a power inserter to the box and I did an auto scan and picked up 86 channels but cannot get a picture to come through. The emu is on, I also tried set default and did a factory reset and rescanned to no avail. The power inserter has an output of DC 24V 350mA 18V 300mA, just wondering is this the correct voltage or is there something else I must do? If anyone can help please!

ya I did get updating but it only went as high as 40% and I also powered off and back on and found that it was staying at 0% or going up to about 40% but just taking longer than it should. I know from the cable boxes that it only takes about 20-30 seconds to update. I also know the box works because I've tried it on mmds near cork city with no prob but that person had basic ch**s subscription so I was thinking may be it was the power inserter that I purchased myself?

Hi. I’ve been following this thread a while now and there are one or two things which have left me a bit confused - I’m easily confused :)

I’ve fitted a DVB-T box to an existing MMDS set-up in Cork and it all works fine. But the equipment (antenna, power supply, down converter) was all standard chorus devices. Now I wish to do a fresh install in my brothers house. I have a “Dreambox 600T” and a “The Box T” to assist me testing my set-up.

Ok, so I have read that other users have went ahead and bought antennas, power supplies and down converters only to run into difficulty during set-up. For example wrong frequencies, wrong power, weak signals etc… Has anyone purchased a set of these which work on the chorus MMDS system without major difficulties? I’ve been looking at the AM-G18 and AM-G27, but am unsure which is better suited. I guess I would need to match these with a down converter (like this one for example) and a power supply (like this one). Would a set-up like this work or would I be better off going with a MMDS antenna, d/c & p/s bundle.

Really really appreciate any advice anyone can give me. I’m slow to part with my cash just in case I end up with unsuitable gear. Thanks

    jammie,
I have just setup the sat&cable aerial G21/downconverter/powersupply with eurovox maxv to pick up N*L and it's working fine.A mate has tried the tx box on a ch**us mmds aerial and it worked fine,he's in the process of setting up sat&cable aerial with the tx box,If your within 10-15 miles from transmitter they say that the integrated aerial works but I went for the sat&cable aerial G18/downconverter/powersupply,Just one thing be very careful when connecting up powersupply, make sure the braided part of coaxial cable does not touch the main coaxial cable on any connection,if so you will blow the power supply. You don't want to do this !!!!!!

The maplins thingy is too weak. You should use an power inserter with minimum 200ma.

    hi all,

apologies for the simplicity but this is wrecking my head.

i have flashed my new eurovox tx but i am having trouble with the whole connection. i hvae a chorus box with one of those black boxes with antenna / tv on them.

i cannot get the physical connections correct and i am getting 0 channels returned as a result.

anyone got an idea where i am going wrong? do i need to connecte the tx to the chorus box to the wall?

im a bit of a computer whizz but cannot connect the wires!

nog state your area, you may have the wrong box as you could have nthell mmds which requires a dvb-c box not dvb-t. have you used symbol rate 6875 for your scan?
