You have to fine tune the progdvb settings. The default settings doesn't match every pc.
The latest stable version is currently 5.09.2 in the 5.x series. Precondition is installed microsoft netframe.

Got V5.11.09 now and its running pretty stabil. Can watch the "free" channels but neither Vpl*g nor S2em* are working (latest k*ys and versions). But I'll keep trying.
Btw. WDM driver was still in the reg although I've installed BDAs from freecom website later. I had to deinstall all of them first and then reinstall the BDAs.
Thanks for your help so far.

It looks like valid keys are missing in your softcam.key file.

Hi, Am totally new to this site and not tech minded at all. I live in Castlebar, want to get a dbox of some description that will be just a matter of plugging in and away I go. MMDS NTL is the signal I get.

    Hi,
I know that Chorus and NTL use different standards (dvb-t vs dvb-c) but will the same downconvertor work for both?
I live in a Chorus area and am interested in playing around with this but don't have a Chorus dish. I do have 2.5Ghz meshes that were used for wifi and a dvb-t tuner card but would need appropriate down convertor and psu.
    Any help much appreciated.

The downconverter doesn't matter. You have to modify maybe the transponder list for scanning.

It looks like you mixed up power inserter and downconverter.
The downconverter is integrated into the feedarm of the aerial or fitted behind at the mast for very old mmds antennas.
That beast need power and the small black box from chorus deliver that power via the antenna cable.
If you don't own such a box the mmds aerial is not working without power.

Is an MMDS aerial necessary, or would an analogue VHF/UHF one do?

Do you think UPV/chorus would install a expensive mmds aerial if a simple TV aerial could do the same job?

Foisted unnecessary technical equipment on an unsuspected public - it has been done...

But I'll interpret your reply as meaning I do need this specific aerial... thanks.

I checked a 12V supply today but with no luck. When we put a meter on the line with 18V it worked. I do not believe 12V supply is sufficent. Any pointer as to wher a 18V unit can be sourced.
