    From motorola.com:
"At this time mobile PhoneTools currently is only compatible with Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP. Please note that Windows 98 and NT 4.0 do not support USB."

I checked the windows update, i don't see any updates that look relevent. Also, I currently have other hardward (scanner and modem) plugged into my USB ports, and they are working fine.

98, and I am not sure if I installed the p2k driver properly. I have downloaded it.

Go to device manager and under Modems look for motorola USB modem (make sure your phone is plugged into the computer). Then right click and uninstall. After the uninstall unplug the phone and replug it in. Windows will detect it and ask for drivers, point it to the p2k drivers.

there is no modems showing (other than the USB modem for internet connection) and the phone is showing under "other devices"

then it needs drivers, right click and update driver. Then select install from a list of specfic location (Advanced). Then click browse and find the p2k drivers.

Not yet, right click on the motorola usb modem or whatever it's called under other devices in the device manager.

that's what I thought you meant, and under other devices it shows my phone - motorola phone V635. I right clicked, chose properties-reinstall driver-...select the driver you want-modem-motorola-then I get stuck, there are no USB modems there, none of them seem right. When I click "have disk" and try to pick the p2k driver I can't path to it.

When you click reinstall driver, do you see "install from a list of specfic location (Advanced)"

no, I have the choice between "search for a better driver than the one your device is using now. (recommended)" and "display a list of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want."
