When I get home I will upload my Inf file. I think that you should be able to replace the Inf file that you have with the one I supply. My file has the correct drivers.

You need to uninstall the current driver and then reinstall the phone. During install, direct it to the new folder. Changing the USB port can be fixed by directing the install to the Inf folder. Once you've done this a few times, you'll be able to do it in minutes.

I have a v3 and xp sp2 and 3.11h works fine for all features...the live update feature is the same for all of them...my fone store guy gave mpt2.0 full version they had paid for...had the live update tool in it...installed it and put 3.11h that I got off the net over it and all works fine...only thing is my fone doesn't sync with BT but I have an aftermarket BT card not moto...maybe that's it? Syncs fine with usb cable.
    --------------------------------------------
anyone have version info for 3.11h-3.23-3.25e ? What's the difference between'em?
can I just put 3.25 right over 3.11h or do I hafta put 3.23 on in between?

One way would be to go into Device Manager, look under Modems and choose the Motorola USB modem. Click Properties, then the Driver tab. Click the Update Driver button and somewhere further into the process, choose to select the driver location manually.

Those may not be the exact steps, but you get the idea.

Yes and with the phone attached, you can do what the above post said and choose to remove the driver. Then disconnect the phone, recycle the phones power and hook it up again. When the new hardware found comes up, tell it you want to install the driver yourself and select the Mobile Phone tools/inf folder and select something like the w2k_Xp directory.

If new hardware found does not come up, there is still a driver installed that it "thinks" is OK.

In one of the windows there is a choice:

    1. Let windows find the driver automatically
    2. Let you choose the driver from a specific location

    Or words to that effect.

I also tried coupple of these and stayed with mobiledit, you can keep it with your next phone, supporting roughly 200 of them now is hard to beat and a good chance your next one will work.
Its features are useful and easy to work with.

Try deleting the Motorola USB modem from the device manager and reboot with the phone connected. When the phone is seen as New Hardware, you will get to the point where it asks for the driver. If it does not do that and goes on to install an existing driver automatically, let it finish. After, go into Device Manager, select the USB modem, and under the Driver tab choose to update driver. In that sequence of updating the driver you WILL get the window where you have the option to choose the driver from a specific location.

    Good Luck.

For those using the Verizon version of the v265, they have crippled the phone so you are unable to use the Multi Media Center in MPT. I found this link http://www.originofstorms.org/?p=88 which is very helpful in helping you "hack" the phone's software ...and enabling the MMC. The only problems I've had have been with MPT but I've read in this forum that I need to do all updates before opening the software and then plug in my phone.

    Good luck!
