I need help please! I have a motorola v180 and it always says initializing. Also, when I try to transfer mp3 or midi files to my cell, it says unsupported format. What can I do to make this work?

Ok, so thanks to everyone on this thread I have finally been able to get MPT 3.25b to talk to my V551 and V265!

What I am trying to do is pull the ringtones I have on my V551 off (along with the games) so I can upload to another phone (like my V265). While I can see and download the pictures taken with the camera on the phone I cannot seem to find the ringtones (standard plus downloaded ones) on my V551.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

I currently have a v188 and use winxp. I installed MPT(3.25b) and can transfer wallpapers just fine. MY problem is when I try to send songs through the melody studio I get this message:
"Unsupported format (mp3 codec may be inappropriate or missing)"

can someone help me out please?

I had/have the same problem with my mp3 codec. I am not sure how I fixed it but I have installed Lame ACM Mp3 Codec which I didn't have prior and haven't been having any problems with mp3's since. When I had that problem it wasn't with every mp3, I send several of them and then I would get that error message. I don't know if that is the same situation you have or not.

Quick question... it won't let me live update. im running 3.11h and when i click to update it brings me to a page to purchase the newest version. Do i have to uninstall everything in the computer about the phone the install the software and run live update before installing the phone.

I have had mpt for awhile and it has been working just fine, as I have sent several ringtones to the phone successfully. Now it will recognize the phone, but when I click to open multimedia studio, it will come up but when I try to transfer a file it says cannot communicate with mobile. When I exit mmc, the little phone icon says modem is not responding. Could this have anythig to do with any recent windows updates? I have XP w/sp2 and run a cable modem. I looked and the only ports available were COM1 and the regular dial phone modem, shouldn't COM3 or 4 be available, or does it sound like my phone is messed up? Any help would be appreciated

    try restarting your phone.
restarting always fixes things for me.

Thanks. I just did the master clear and it works fine now, I guess something was changed inadvertantly.

I installed the mobile phone tools v3 linked in this thread and I got a prompt saying the program does not pass the Microsoft Logo test and could cause instability now or later. Has anyone else received this message? Thanks
