For those who have mobile phone tools already installed, and working... I realized that if you got to setup and change modem, or change device, and look on the list of phones... you may see an alternate listing of ur phone. try that and it may work. for me i have a motorola E815 and I changed my deive from e815 to e815b on the list and now it enables me to to everything, including sending and receiving audio and video files, from my computer to mobile phone, or vise versa...

ps i do not recomend this too much becuause i noticed my phone would act wiered at times, like restarting without my command, and sometimes freezing, you can do damage to ur phone so try this at ur own risk...

I have t-moble razer v3, bluesoleil BT adapter, cable and mpt 3.23. I can connect through bluetooth, and upload/download videos/pictures/audio But not connect to MPT. Using the usb cable, I could connect, but never went beyond that since using blue tooth was more convenient. A few days ago, MPT wanted to update it self. I do not know to which version it went, but after the update, I started downloading pictures via the cable when in the middle of the process it lost connection to the phone. No no matter what I do, I cannot connect the phone to MPT via the usb cable? I want to do this to back up my address book. Any ideas? BlueSoleil is not connected or working when this happens, yet I get an error that device is in use by another process?

Hey guys, I just got the Motorola A630 and I've also got MPT3.11h. Now the problem is that everytime I load MPT and it asks me to connect, I connect it and then the "installing" clock the goes on for a while and then it just changes to the phone (default phone) and then it "intialises" forever.

I bought Razr V3 from Cingular and tried to get it to work with Mobile PhoneTools v3.11-v3.41 using the USB cable and it would not connect. I bought a Kensington Bluetooth USB adapter and install the driver. "Partnered" it with the Razr by running the discover routine on both at the same time. The Razr only broadcasts for 60secs but that was enough time for them to see each other. Now that the bluetooth partnership was established, I selected "bluetooth connection" in Mobile PhoneTools and it connected! I was able to see the phone directories, copy photos off the phone, edit and transfer some mp3 ringtones. It recodes your mp3s to a phone-friendly bitrate.
I will try v4 of MPT to see if it will connect using the usb but for now the investment in a bluetooth adapter was well worth the expense.

What connection did you do with the kensington adapter. I am using Soleil Bluetooth adapter. Using that I can browse my images, audio and video on the phone. But MPT refuses to connect through bluetooth. For anything else, I have to use the USB cable. I tried pairing for file transfer as well as DUN.

Can anyone tell me if it cost money everytime you transfer a file from the computer to my cell phone via BlueTooth? And one last question, Does it cost per minute when you go on mobile internet?

It costs absolutely no money to transfer files to your phone via bluetooth. However, the mobile web depends on your service provider. For example, mine charges 1 cent per kilobyte downloaded. Many service providers offer packs that set a static price per month for unlimited mobile web. You should ask your service provider how they bill you.

    Thanks for the info.
But one last question, In order to use bluetooth to transfer file to my phone I have to have a computer that is BlueTooth enabled too right? So there is no way to get my DELL to be capable of this?

Just go buy a USB bluetooth adapter! :p Bluetooth doesnt have to be internally integrated.

Would it be possible to use a service like AOL or netzero using a cable or BT adapter to dial out using the phone? Would it then count against the unlimited minutes we have instead of the per kb transfers?
