It should work. I have not tried this yet on my phone. Let me know your results. I was thinking of trying it to access the internet on a non-connected pc and use some of the unlimited minutes I have to browse the web from the pc.

I think the Mototrola Mobile Phone tools doesn't have the option to send/receive fax, but the mobile phone tools by bvrp.com supports it. Did anybody try?

I downloaded mpt3.23 from from the above URL. installed it and then it checked for a new version. It only found v3.25b.

When I run the program it locks up my PC - Hard reset is the only way out. Tried it 3 times.

Anyone know what's wrong? or why I can only get the v3.25 version when someone mentioned a v4.x out there?

    Thanks

You have to keep updating the version. Keep trying Live update which will upgrade the version to newer version till you get 'It is upto date!'

How do you run live update again? it runs once on the first startup, then on the next startup it locks up. How do I force another update?
It locks up after I select the profile. I've tried a new profile and the default profile.

    Hi All,
    Just for general info:
Many of the MPT links are dead, but there was one for MPT v2.?? I don't remember exactly which version, but it didn't work for me (v262)
For the life of me I could not get ANY of the drivers floating around to work either: iMega Pack,MotorolaUSBModemDriver,Motorola.rar,etc.
(Nothing against them, they just didn't work for me. In fact, I will reinstall iMega Pack because it has more than just drivers. it has some pretty useful tools.) I don't understand why those didn't work - my phone is new to me but this model has been around for quite a while.

Next I downloaded from the link provided by apfeng for MPT323 (thanks), did a live update and tried again to install the v262 as a modem. This time it found the driver and installed as "Motorola USB Modem". It couldn't find it before the update.

I'm posting this from my laptop connected to my v262 (121.7 Kbps download, tested at http://tech.msn.com/products/speedtest.aspx)
Thanks to all for a great resource

EDIT: When I try to move pics and ringtones to the v262 it breaks with the "Could not Communicate to the Phone" error message. I've updated to MPT v4.04b and can connect to the net, I've also successfully transfered my phone book to this phone, but no pics or tones.
    Any thoughts?

    This may not work be right but;
Do you need P2kman or MPT or anything like to that put games onto my Motorola E815 phone? Do I need to unlock anything in order to do this?
I downloaded free games off a site but when I try to load them onto my transFlash Memory Card I dont know where to put them becasue there is only a place for Video, Audio and Pictures. I am hoping someone has some advice because I am having no luck at all with this.

EDIT: Also when I got the games they came in two files. A .jar and a .jad file do I load both or just one onto my tF Card and if one, which one is it?

I just recently got the Mobile Phone Tools version 3.22 on windows XP for my RAZR V3 and upgraded to 3.25. I want to transfer mp3 to my phone. When I use the melody studio i get an error say unsupported format: mp3 codec maybe inapporpriate. I can't save the segemnts either! But I can transfer pictures and whole mp3 songs using explorer, but I don't want whole songs!
Can someone help or refer me to someone that knows how to deal with this

When i start up mobile Phone Tools it asks me to select how I will me connecting my device. But right before that it says "please make sure your phone isnt locked" does this mean I have to have an unlocked phone to do this?
