Okay, I downloaded mpt off of codedata and its installed. When it gets to the point where it says connect my phone, I say I'm connceting it with a usb cable and then I plug in my phone it recognizes it but then when its supposed to be finished it just gives me another prompt to install my phone, its a motorola e815, anyone have any suggestions?

ok guy i see a lot of you are having problems with gray mutimedia icon.. here is what u have to do in order to make it work, basically u need to choose v3cm and not v3c:
(make sure your cell is connected)

To manually select V3cm...start MPT....From MPT'S menu button select setup... General Setup....Communication tab .... Change Modem....click Next....in the select device screen, highlight your Moto USB modem or Bluetooh Modem (depends how your connecting)......click Next.....Check the box for "Do not automatically detect the driver. Select from a list."... click Next...Select CDMA from the left column.....scroll on the right & select V3cm....click Next...click Finish....hit OK...Thats it!!! I just woke up so I hope I explained it correctly

I have the same problem as cifasy with my three v220 phones. Could the phone be locked? I'm not sure what this means or how to unlock it. I'm just grasping for straws.

    Hey cifasy,

I got my v220 to connect!!!! I went to Cingular's website and downloaded the communication manager program. I just followed instructions and it set up the phone correctly and that program worked. Then I went back to the mobile phone tools program. Ran through it for the one hundredth time, and it now works! Gone is the little red X and all the side buttons work. I guess the Cingular program corrected whatever was wrong with the setup.
