modem cable

    hi iam going to maplin today for a null modem cable the only problem i have is i need female to female as my laptop is male as is my starview will this be a problem or not. also what will it do i relise i need one but i dont no why will it give me more channels as i get 257 just now thanks

    No problem a Modem cable should have 2 x 9 pin females on ends, just make sure they don't sell you a serial cable which looks the same but wired different internally. The only reason you will need a null modem cable is if you want to load newer updated firmware into your box.

    thanks for getting back to me i dont mean to sound stupid but what does jbvid mean and if you can tell me how to do it or were i will find a idiots guide to do all i need to do from downloading software to puting it into my starview thanks again

    thanks again looks really hard dont no what box i have it says on the front dv3 cant see it on the page that was sent i dont no if iam looking at the wrong place on the box

    Better google 'dv3 cable box' looks like a Sagem certainly not a Starview

    hi it says starveiw on the front off it and dv3 on the plastic frontwere the channel number is i will google for dv3 see what i get

    Ok I stand correcting, didn't know Starview did a DV3 version. I am sure someone else on the forum must have one to guide you along.

    That is actually a logo and it reads DVB :)

    Go back to the links I gave you and have a GOOD look and READ there, you won't find any more helpfull info than in there to sort you out.
