Most Recent/Favorite Concert You Went To

Does anyone actually like james labries voice?
I think its funny how he spends most of the concert backstage.

 

I don't like his voice much ,its the weakest link in the band

on there latest album Mike Portony does a few songs which is great

 

I saw KISS and Ozzy about 2 weeks ago in Sydney. Both were kick ass shows.

 

True, James' voice is not the best, but i DO like the lyrical content of a lot of the stuff he writes. All instrumentalists in the band are quite exceptional in their field, that's for sure.

Yeah we'll have to keep an eye out for Friday or Saturday show, Scott. We gotta go sometime though!

 

road trip it guys... thats what we're doing... its like an hour and half drive for us... well worth it though... pack the cooler and have some fun, that's what a concert is all about!

 

As fun as that would be, i KNOW i have to work the Wednesday after, and i'm sure Zoso does too. We'll probably just hang on for a weekend show to catch.

Ah...i miss the days of throwing everything to the wayside for a road trip.

 

yes I'm in the same boat working the next day ,so a fri or sat night would work better.and coming from Indianapolis would be a trip

 

The stuff he writes? Portnoy and Petrucci write most of the songs. (majority Petrucci). James wrote very few songs. I mean max 5.

He did write sacrificed sons and prophets of war though which are pretty good lyrical wise.

i saw bad religion and pennywise here in los angeles. that was pretty fun i love good punk that isn't emo or pop.

 

shall we just make a DT thread? lol... decisions, decisions... our show is on a sunday, so don't worry i gotta work monday morning, its give and take... but i'll try and tape what i can of our show so you guys can see it... no promises though...

well yes and no... parts of this convo have gone off topic... but considering its the NEXT concert i'm going to it would be considered legit. and considering that DT is the headliner. talking about them, while slightly off topic isn't a complete violation... but that's just my interperation...

and i have dozens of other autograph's from many bands

lol really i rate Bon Jovi with Poison,Cinderella,Motley Crue etc. all of the Hair/pop/rock metal bands that had no influence on real Rock Music sorry to burst your bubble lol

Pink Floyd
The Who
Cream
Dream Theater

and the Blues will always live on to which all theses bands above owe

all these bands will be remembered in 200+ years as the hair metal bands won't

liking Bon Jovi etc, is fine but in the grand scheme of Rock Music they aren't that important
