I have started to get into messing around with video on my PC but feel I need a faster processor and more RAM. The motherboard I have just now only supports 256mb of RAM and at max an AMD Duron processor. I have been looking around a few websites for some motherboards and a processor but I dont know which to get. Im looking for a motherboard which will support over 2gb of RAM and support a AMD Athlon XP(over 2GHz) processor (or should i be thinking about a Intel Processor?). Obviously I want to spend as little money as possible. Can anyone one out there recommend anything(Im in the UK). I really dont know where to start looking of what im looking for.

    Is this a good combination?

I cant say I'm a fan of the Gigabyte mobos. I would reccommend the ASUS A7V8X-X (which Ive got here) and a Barton2500 (or faster). Thats a really cheap option with quite a bit of performance. If you want some more, up the mobo to an ASUS A7N8X (or A7N8X-Deluxe) or the ABIT NFS7 and jolt the CPU to a Barton 3000.
Grab yourself either 512 or 1024 of at least PC2700 ram and you'll be set.
