I just fried my XBOX and sold everything but the motherboard on Ebay (I made more than it cost me for the XBOX), and I was wondering if I could switch my motherboard to another XBOX, say if its version 1.2 or something. My original motherboard is version 1.0, will it create compatibility problems with components of my new XBOX system? Or should i just go ahead and try it myself :} Thanks for any responses!

Swapping motherboards will cause issues with the hard drive. The stock HD is locked to each motherboard it is manufactured with. What you want to do is unlock the HD in the new system, swap the motherboard, then lock the HD to the swapped motherboard.
