Motorola Phone Tools and service provider agreement

I bought the Motorola Phone Tools software several months ago and it worked beautifully with my basic black V3 Razr.

Just last month, I switched carriers and bought a new pink V3m Razr.

I am able to use Motorola Phone Tools with this Razr with the exception of the MMS Studio option. This option does not appear on my menu at all. I got in touch with support from MPT and they told me I needed to contact my service provider (which I will gladly reveal the name if I'm allowed to do so).

I emailed support for my service provider and they informed me that they have an agreement with MPT not to allow the MMS studio option to be used with their phones. So I am stuck using this service to transfer my ringtones and images to my phone.

This is HORRIBLE and I am very upset about it.

My question is......if I use an unlock code, would it free my phone of any affiliation with the service provider and then allow me to use my MPT to their fullest potential?

If my thinking above is on track, does anyone have an unlock code for a V3m phone?
