    Ok... Refer to mightybop's post: 19. December 2004 @ 22:45

This worked just fine for me.
    laptop 2.4 Intel junk
    Xp Pro sp2
    V220

You can only down load small files to your Phone (IE: pics,mp3,and midi)
Like somome esle posted:" The phone only a small amount of memory."

    Pics 640x480 standard optimized
Subsampling NONE The higher the Quality
    the bigger the file size.

Mp3s Must be low bit rate. The lower the bit rate the
    smaller the file.

First, Before you get mad at this Treads' info... Try pluging a USB cable from your comp. to your phone and see if it is detected. If not this is a small USB port on the phone, Be sure you have the cable pushed in the phone... Most Digital Cameras use the same cable...

I have dl both pics and mp3 with only one poblem, The cable not be in all the way.... :)

Weldernut suggests that the likely cause of corrupted MP3 files is the USB cable not being properly located in its socket.

That was why I am asking if anyone who suffers from corrupted MP3s transferred to the phone via USB has the same problem when downloading from a website. If downloaded files are not corrupted, that means it's not the USB cable or its connections.

For tests, I converted a .wav file to MP3. It's a dog barking and is only 3KB. It plays OK on my machine but the phone refuses to play it and maintains it is corrupted.

Yes, I agree 100%. OK...I'm gonna try to install an MP3 ringtone. I will take an existing MP3, cut a 10 second chunk out of it and see if I can upload it to my phone. I will let you know how it goes.

Do you have Axel F, 007 theme, Jump (van halen), Rockit (Herbie Hancock), or Whip it (Devo) as ring tones on YOUR cell phone? And exactly how do those sound like everyone elses? That makes absolutely no sense. Now, admittedly I have had to search for decent sounding MIDI's of those songs, but they work. :-/

I downloaded the 1.23c, but when I tried to install, it asked to insert the CD.. The reason I'm trying to download is that I have a v220 and I can't get the band 1800, which I need the most... My wife's v220 is quadband, 850/1900/900/1800.. My is missing the 1800 band.. Anyone have any ideia how to get it to work??

It appears that AT&T sold the V220 and it was quad band. Cingular sold the V220 and it was supposed to be Tri-band. Although when I check their site it only indicates that the V220 operates on 850/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS networks. My phone indicates that it is tri-band and my cellular provider is Cingular.

Also note that the Mobile Phone Tools will not let you change the bands that I'm aware of. That's most likely a BIOS flash type update that would have to be done at the place where you purchased it.

i have a few questions in response to your post cpuwhiz...first..i have windows 98...v220 phone...i have upgraded to v3.19a...when i do the setup wizard..first should i click on "exclusive use"...when i click on the wizard do i click on the box that says "do not automatically detect the driver" or leave it blank? Next question...if i leave it blank, the program tries to detect my modem and says

    --modem properties
    -->at+mode=2
    comm error
    closing modem.
i click next and it goes to model selection and i can find my v220 in the selection...i click on it..it takes me back to a picture of my phone and it just says Initializing...with no available signal left hand corner and then a little phone pops up with i circle and line thru it which is no mobile connected...can you help with this please?

yes check the box that says do not automatically find your connection then you will choose from a list of diff connection types-then choose the option that says GSM-NOTE KEEP YOUR PHONE CONNECTED THE WHOLE TIME TO THE PC-THEN IT WILL READ THE INFO FROM YOUR PHONE AND FILL A LITTLE BOX.EXIT MPT-THEN RESTART IT-IT WILL SAY INITIALIZING-GIVE IT A LITTLE WHILE THEN-THERE!!YOUR PHONE WILL SHOW UP.REMEMBER YOU DO NOT NEED ALL THE OTHER BS AS FAR AS THE P2K DRIVER AND TRYING TO INSTALL THAT AND ALL THE OTHER THINGS THAT HAS BEEN POSTED-ALL YOU NEED IS THE NEWEST VERSION AND THEN FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS-I WROTE ALL OF THIS WHILE IT WAS TOLD TO ME ON THE PHONE-IF NEED BE LEAVE ANOTHER MESSAGE-NOW im trying to figure out how and what games to use on it-you can transfer them to the phone-i just have not located any games to test it out-this new MPT-has a movie editor which you can make short video clips to send to your phone-
