Motorola V220 USB Data Cabel Software

check the box that says do not automatically find your connection then you will choose from a list of diff connection types-then choose the option that says GSM-NOTE KEEP YOUR PHONE CONNECTED THE WHOLE TIME TO THE PC-THEN IT WILL READ THE INFO FROM YOUR PHONE AND FILL A LITTLE BOX.EXIT MPT-THEN RESTART IT-IT WILL SAY INITIALIZING-GIVE IT A LITTLE WHILE THEN-THERE!!YOUR PHONE WILL SHOW UP.REMEMBER YOU DO NOT NEED ALL THE OTHER BS AS FAR AS THE P2K DRIVER AND TRYING TO INSTALL THAT AND ALL THE OTHER THINGS THAT HAS BEEN POSTED-ALL YOU NEED IS THE NEWEST VERSION AND THEN FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS-I WROTE ALL OF THIS WHILE IT WAS TOLD TO ME ON THE PHONE-IF NEED BE LEAVE ANOTHER MESSAGE-NOW im trying to figure out how and what games to use on it-you can transfer them to the phone-i just have not located any games to test it out-this new MPT-has a movie editor which you can make short video clips to send to your phone-

 

okay...i have done all that you said...and so far have given it about 10min...and it still says initializing..also the menu box on the right hand side of the box only has e-mail option and info option highlighted so i cannot get into the multimedia studio.

I managed to get the mobiletools software to see my v220 phone. I downloaded the software from -


Once installed - run the application.
Connect your phone (using usb)
when asked which phone select v66 or v66i (thats what i used and it worked.)

Once all is setup you will be able to see you sms, email and phone book (but no pics or tunes.)

Under menu / help there is an option to update.
By doing this it should download the latest version of the mobiletool software. I got 3.19e1

The files are quite big so dialup will take forever.
Once downloaded they will install automatically. A couple of pc reboots later and all is done.

Disconnect your phone and run the software.
Remove any profiles setup and start a new one
when asked connect your phone. It will be dedtected straight away and set up.

Not a bad bit of software. Easy to use.

alright this is what you do-you need to take down the following info and call -866-BUY-MOTO-do not call from your cell phone-then tell them you have mpt3.11h and that you are receiving this message-"error:0x80040707
Description: DLL function call crashedBKInstall._Getbooknames"
Set-up will now terminate
if you want the longer detail here it is(got to make this quick cause the wife wants me off the pc!LOL)
1. goto start>control panel>system>device manager>modem>make sure you see that the motorola modem icon is there.CLOSE ALL OF THIS IF SO.
NEXT STEP
Goto phones and modem>still in control panel>then modems>make sure that you see your phone as a modem-MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS CONNECTED TO THE PC THE WHOLE TIME YOU ARE DOING ALL OF THIS***while you are in the modem panel,make sure NO OTHER SOFTWARE/HARDWARE IS ON THE SAME COM AS THE MOTOROLA COM-exit all of this then restart the MPT program from there follow the rest of my instructions-

 

i have all the drivers...i have updated to 3.19e1...it just sits there and initializes and says mobile not connected.

 

all of the functions work-you have to find your phone from the list as well-there are a TON OF PHONES!make sure you take the time to find your phone-remember your phone stays connected the whole time-YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REBOOT YOUR PC AT ALL!!!!

 

WELL I KNOW 3.11H WORKS-I HAVE NOT UPDATED THE PROGRAM FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT IT MIGHT NOT WORK-MPT3.11H WILL WORK-

 

i did take the time to find my phone..it is the v220...and i have already updated to v3.19e1...do i need to delete everything..reinstall everything..and only update to v3.11...also i checked everything you said and everything is the way you said.

 

IF THE NEW VERSION IS NOT WORKING THEN NO-YOU NEED TO RESTART THE PROGRAM AND KEEP THE PHONE CONNECTED TO THE PC-WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NEXT IS RESTART THE PROGRAM-THEN LET IT INITIALIZE-THIS MIGHT TAKE SOME TIME DEPENDING ON YOUR PC-MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS ON THE WHOLE TIME AS WELL-ONCE ITS DONE INITIALIZING IT WILL SHOW YOUR PHONE-THEN YOU WILL HAVE ALL THE OPTIONS ON THE SIDE AS WELL AS SOME DIFF. NEW OPTIONS

 

since i have updated...it has been initializing for about an hour now...any more ideas?

In Midway 2.8 when i try to send the games (the games are fine there is nothing wrong with them) i keep geting timeout errors, i can connect the phone to moble phone tools 3.11 and send ring tones and pictures, but i cannot get midway to work. Also there is no load apps in java setings......>_< plz help!

 

robfusion did u have to edit any of the java settings to see the games and ringtones? Or just plugged it in and realized? I can see my contacts and things just nothin on ringers or games so I cant send anything? Any advice would be appreciated. feel free to IM me and br0wnb0mber (the o's are Zeroes)

 

Sorry about the caps-look i have gave all the help and no-how that i could give-A few pointers-you should also check out what service provider-i have Cingular and that is who i had to tell the HelloMotto tech-supervisor-what provider you have-well to connect using your device as a modem-you can dl this software that i will post-this is ONLY for those who need MPT to connect using the program as a modem.The first link will give you a list of phones that can work with this software.

ok i got ringtones, pictures and videos working on my phone now i want java games...i got midway and that stupid [TIME EXPIRED] thing pops up but sombody said to change a setting on ur phone to let it upload...but u need to get a program at motoaid.com to change the setting...when i go to motoaid.com it just comes up with a huge motoaid.com logo and nothng else? somebody said sign up and get a one time password but how do u sign up....i need help plz...[bold]somebody post how to get motoaid.com working cuz i really am craving some java games on my cell (v220) thnx[/bold]
