I've been reading MOSTLY everyone's post..until I got a headache,I've been trying to find USB drivers for a motorola c650 for days now and can't seem to find anything. I've tried downloading some kinda of Mobile Phone Tools but I get to the page where it searches your phone and it just sits there and then says my phone isn't connected when it is. I've made sure to try to go in their sequence of turning on phone, plugging the usb into the phone, and then into the computer. No Luck. Can anyone help me please????
I'm not sure about your model of phone but try this. Read the post from 'Sunny 4328' from 24th May. It gives you step by step instructions, and some very helpful links to the software websites. I tried it last night and got mine working exectly how i wanted, after 2 days of trying. Try it, it might work. You also need to find out if your model is compatible with the software.
I've tried that and no luck... How do I find out if it will work with my phone model? ( motorola c650 ). ..
Hey Queso, I'm not actually sure. I will try and find out for you, should be working right now, but stuff it! Will get back to you. Ps which OS do you use and do you have SP2. This seems to cause a whole multitude of problems.
I had the problem of the MultiMediaCenter 'killing' the phone connection and then being unable to transfer anything to the phone. Well, indesperation, I selected the Master Reset (under Settings:Initial Setup) on my phone. It worked. After doing so I was able to transfer images and ringtones to the phone. Hope this helps someone. Peter
Right just been having a look on the net and it seems that the Moto c650 IS compatible, for sure. Are you sure you have all the right downloads and files? You will also need the P2k Drivers WinXP. You will find all the appropriate links in this thread. This is the method I used to install my mPT for my V220, but as far as i know the files you need to install, are same for every make and model. 1. Make sure all the previously installed versions of MPT are deleted. Ensure you do this from the [bold]Control Panel[/bold] in the [bold]Start Menu[/bold]. Then, [bold]Add/Remove Programs[/bold] and scroll down to [bold]mobile Phone Tools[/bold] and click on remove. Also make sure that you DON"T plug the phone in with the USB cable until you have installed the programme fully. 2. Go to http://www.free.cz/motorola/ Click on mmpt_1.23c_EN.zip, the one from 9 July. Install by using an archive program to extract the files and then click on the Install/Setup icon in that folder. When it is almost installed, an error message may pop up saying something about 'getbooks'. DO NOT click OK, just CTRL+ALT+DEL and end the task. This will stop it from uninstalling. 3. Go back to the same link and download mobilePhoneTools_2.2..> from 17 May. Extract and click on the update icon you have just unzipped. 4. There are other updates you can get. But first, get it installed properly, and the programme can search for updates for itself. Next, you need to download the P2K drivers. Go to http://bongowireless.com/file_download.php and click on the P2k_Driver_WinXP or the one for 95/2000, if appropriate. You have to unzip them but there isn't anything that you have to install. 5. Restart your computer, when it is back up and running, plug the phone into the computer. It should automatically detect the new hardware and the drivers. 6. Once it has done that, click on the icon for MobilePhone Tools, which should be a picture of a phone with blue rings behind it. A phone will appear on your screen and the icons on the right of it are your links. 7. You will want to back-up your data from your mobile on your PC before you do any synchronising. The option to do this is in the main menu under organiser, Mobile Phone, Back-up/Restore. You can choose where to save your backed up phone data, if you choose. 8. If you decide to update your version, you can do it through the Live Update option in the main menu. If i were you, i would delete everything you have already downloaded and start from scratch. It may be that they wreren't downloaded properly or something. Let us know how you get on. Good Luck!
Okay I got the phonetools downloaded and also the drivers, but when It detects my new hardware it says it can't find the drivers for them to install....and would it have to do with me not having a modem? Cause I go threw my cable for my internet.
Opps..and also..my icon doesn't look like what you described mine looks like a computer with a phone infront of it. Ahh! sorry if I'm spamming .. don't mean to.
PMORRIS!!!!! I LOVE YOU lol i did a master reset on my phone and it worked, i finally got connection on multimedia studio and successfully transfered my ringtone! thanks!
The icon you are describing sounds like the icon for version 1.23. The other one is v2.21. You oviously haven't got as far as updating yet. You also need to make sure you got the right driver from bongowireless. I would try two things. If you can install the software without starting it up. Do that then, you can configure the settings on the update. Or, browse to the folder where the driver was saved. Whenever i download something i save it on to my desktop then they are easy to get to until i don't need them.
Well the second thing the "update" .exe. it runs and says this will take a few minutes and then disappears..and doesn't say it's finished or anything is that suppose to do that..and the second one for the update you say to unzip it, well it's just an exe file for me, is this correct?...Thanks for the help seriously...I'm so fustrated with this..and I saved everything to a folder in my desktop.
I have tried for weeks to get this to work. Spent hours downloading etc. I finally just decided to go to ebay and I purchased a cd with phone tools 3.0 for 8.99 plus 5.99 s&h. I can just use my usb cable from my digital camera. The person I found to buy from was ccmaccessories. You could also get with cable for 12.99 plus s&h. I think it is worth the money. I searched onlin and found same software cd for 39.99. I will let all know how it works when I get it. I just orderd tonight. Good Luck!!!
Queso If it's already unzipped then it shouldn't make a difference. And i can't understand what wrong with your installing. Try re-installing it, is all i can say. And make sure you don't connect your phone before you've got all the software installed.
How or where can I update the PhoneTools Software program to the newest 3.0 ver., I have 2.2 now. Thanks
1. Go into your menu on MPT and go do to 'Live Update'. This should find any updates that be downloaded to your computer. This is probably your best option. 2. Browse the web for them. There are many different version, i run on 3.11 but there are 3.22 and some others. There are some links in the above posts to this thread. Can anyone help with a problem of mine? When i try to open my MPT it just thinks about it then does nothing. The first time i tried to open it, it opened, but i closed it and when i tried to re-open it, it refuses. I run on v3.11 and Win Xp, with SP2. Not had any other problems with it since i got it downloaded properly. Does anyone know a cause and solution to this problem? Thanks in advance to anyone for their help.
Nope, Didn't work..I don't know what else to try..I guess I'll just go out and buy the CD..Thanks though!!
