Okay... So I downloaded the software, and connected my phone to my computer with the USB cable exactly like it told me to. Now, it's saying "Please wait. Your phone is being installed and set up." However, it's been saying this for the past hour! Anyone else run into this? What's the solution?

[bold] ALL NEWB'S WITH QUESTIONS [/bold]

For those of you who can't read well, [bold]GEM20[/bold] is working on the software links.

If you are incapable of obtaining it for yourself through other means (IE P2P) than you will have to wait until she is done. Or (Gasp) buy it if you can't wait. I will not be replying to any more questions about it until then.

If you have problems with the software you currently have, I will be happy to continue helping with that.

I have windows XP and have downloaded the 1.23 version since the links to version 2.1 haven't been fixed yet.

Ok. be patient with me, I'm not familiar with vers. b4 2.1.

Have you tried running the update feature?
it's in the menu some where.

also, have you installed the P2K driver like we discussed erlier?
I think i failed to mention doing it without MPT running.
    that makes it alot easyer.

I have installed the P2K driver, but can't get to the update feature because the 1.23 version isn't even installed yet. It's still saying "Please wait. Your phone is being installed and set up".

So then if I click cancel, a little phone pops up on my screen with all these buttons and stuff that I can click on. So i went to the menu and clicked "Update".

It sent me to this link: http://www.bvrp.com/customers/motorola/upgrade/US/

One of the downloads on that site is "> Click here if you use a CDMA phone and experience disconnect errors while transferring files from your phone to PC. "

So is my phone a CDMA phone?

Hey, does any one have the server space and bandwidth to support this file (Motorola Mobile Phone Tools 3.0 (Per v220 v180 C650 C380 C385 v3) Mpt v3.11h Full.iso) in the thread? it's 714MB.

So, I've read and read and tried to follow the directions listed, but I'm guessing I missed something. I've run into the installation error (0x80040707) that Gem mentioned, but ctrl+alt+del does not help me. It stops the installation anyway. I'm running WinXP Pro with SP2. Is that the problem? I've managed to download three different (probably the same) copies of the 1.23 software, but can't get past this.

    Any advice would be great.

Hi, I have the v220 phone, a USB cable and software. I can transfer phone numbers and stuff as well as use it as a modem, but when I try files, it loses the connection to the phone. I ahve upgraded the software to the latest version. Every version does the same. It works now - I just left it for ages.
