also.. on all of the newer movies i have burned that work fine on my player..i have noticed when the movie starts, the divx logo will appear on the bottom right of the movie and then go away. but when i play back the new movie im trying to burn on my computer. it doesnt show up on that one. could that be due to what type of file the movie was when i got it, or could it be the way it was converted???
Could be the way they were converted but I'm guessing you did them the same way as the ones that work. The DivX logo appearing - is that showing on the player for the ones that don't play? What's the original format they were in?
no they dont show up on the ones that dont play in the player. the original format that i downloaded those in were .avi files.
Hmmm I running out of suggestions - there is something about these that your player doesn't like cause they play fine in the pc. You've pretty much tried good converters - Nero Vision (looks like you tried that one) , WinAVI and DivXtoDVD. You may just want to try the big bro of DivX - ConvertXtoDVD. Has a free trial but does leave a watermark on the trial.
hey. i got convertxtodvd, and everything is working fine finally. i can finally burn all these movies! two quick questions for you.. 1. i just burned two movies, and they are both showing up in widescreen format..i set the sizing before i converted to full screen. is there something i might not be checking where i can change them to full screen?? 2. i have the seasons of sopranos that i want to back up. how do i burn multiple episodes onto one dvd?? thanks so much for all your help!
Wow - glad to hear ConvertX did the trick! The widescreen bit on avi's only - I've played w/ it trying to convert them to full screen but have not found a way. There probably is - I just haven't played around enuf. Check the settings in ConvertX - should have one to switch to 4:3. May work. Is the Soprano's in avi format or a dvd? If avi I would use Nero Vision or ConvertX. Depending on the file size you may get 4 episodes on 1 disc. You could try to put more on there and save to your hard drive. Once converted you could use Recode to compress to a single layer dvd - but quality may go down. If a dvd you can either have AnyDVD running in the background and use Recode - Recode an Entire DVD to DVD option. Or rip with DVDFab Decrypter and open those files in Recode using the same option.
