oh i see. so if thats the case then the parts that have changed in the fixed file should be the same as those in an auto-updating file like v3 or v4, i'll check it out now

ok the differences between the original 257 & the modded version are at these offsets:

    00009fa0
    0000a0c0
    0000b120-0000b180
    000c00d0

i then compared the modded 257 to the 260 and the 300 files, they also have differences at these offsets. so, i might be wrong here but it looks like the differences have nothing to do with auto-updating. the only way we will know is when the codes change.

Thats what i thought! Also i get a lot of freezing especially when using the computer at the same time! I,m on a gen box with version 2.60, codes have to be put in manually when required would any of this firmware, v4 maybe stop this?

I've not had Sky Sports 1 all day(NE England). Are others in the same boat? All other channels seem ok. I'm running 259.

i always thought 260 auto-updates. well i know v3 definently does, i use it to update my clone. v3 might even stop the freezing, using your pc shouldnt affect the starview, modem uses a totally different frequency.

It autorolled ok, but like everyone else lost S&ysports 1 yesterday.

A quick delete and auto scan and hey presto back to normal!

    Cheers

    Guys for the good work.

Will wait and see what happens to mine after a key change.

type hex compare in google - click on first link, its just a hex editor but you can load up 2 files at same time to compare them. it highlights changes for you
