been going through a few other sites looks like the new 257 is going well at the moment even a site that does not entertain clones is giving it the thumbs up well we will have to wait and see still early days

 

Have the new 257 running fine on my clone. I get some pixelating from time to time, but it only seems to happen on the one channel.
I won't say which one, but the wife watches it, and she hasn't complained, yet ;-)

 

hope everthing goes well with 2.57 people who bought clones need a break.

I share you're feelings about the clones/2.57 thing. As you know, I had no idea when I bought it, about the whole gen/clone thing.

And being me, I tried the v4 anyway. Killed my clone, and now I have a "zombie", jtagged back to life, and happily running the fixed 2.57, for now.

Actually, the jtag was easy to make too. So I don't mind trying new firmware.

Im sure it was probably asked before but i dont know where.But anyways. how do you know if your starview box is a clone or the "real" thing. and is there much of a difference like?????
