Its from a desktop.

I've done a factory reset.

Cable is an RS232 seial connection lead. (Says on the back of the box - Null Modem is a standard used to connect two computers together to create a basic network). Had to put 2 mini gender changers on it so I could connect computer to starview.

Tried all the COM ports.
COM2 and COM3 won't work at all.
COM1 seems like it is working for a while, download % stays at 0, and then after a few mins says it has failed and gives option to retry/cancel.
COM4 is the same as COM1, but no failed message appears

 

only got mine around then as well and i googled sv boxes and came across this forum i am addicted ever since lol

 

I do indeed remember Tezzer. Maybe the mods are having good day though, and the wind might be blowing the right direction.

I think I've said enough, before I get booted too.

OK Magoo, as I suggested earlier, search on G***le for 'virtual null modem', and download a trial version, try it, it's worked for a few other people on here lately, who also thought they had null modem cables, but actually had straight through.

 

Do a factory reset!
After you select your language!
Go to installation!
Pick ntl or chorus depending!
And automatic scan.
Then exit back to the menu screen when the scan is complete press 1570 turn emu on and you chould have all the channels working no probs!

hi up dated my box to 400 done a scan got all the stations but it just says bad channel so i went on to nagravision to c the codes and the 00 is right but were the 01 is it has ff aslo were the numbers are the same

Hi all.Does anyone know if its possible to set the timer on the starview for anything other than the same day eg a day in advance? When you set it you can only select a time not a day so it seems you can only set it within the current day.Any help appreciated

 

Where the ff codes are , just change it manualy to 01 with thte remote numbers and enter your key data

Cinty just press set default codes if its 4.00ee it will autoroll some times it just needs a bit of a kick start make sure emu is on because it only say's bad or scrambled channel when emu is off OTHER WISE it would say updating!

 

? To set it to come on to record something i mean.

 

Sorry you must be talkin about the pvr version ryan might be able to help you out as i have not got a pvr

 

done all that and it just says updating

 

I only have the normal starview,you can set it to come on and off at set times i also then set my dvd recorder to come on and i record things.just wondered if any way of selecting a day in advance instead of only being able to set it to come on within a 24 hour period as thats all it seems you can do from the timer function.
