Afternoon lads and lasses. Looks like I may loose my broadband some time real soon, so I may be off air shortly, until I'm back in work.

Magoo, glad to hear you got up and running. Ask away, that's what the forum is for.

Hi Turk, Ryan, - I have the same problem here, I have searched around and and all I can come up with is this -

Please remember many of the channels that you receive are NOT transmitted in 16:9 aspect ratio (Full Widescreen) it is also dependent on the programme as well as the channel. Many are in 4:3 or 14:9. What this means is that if you are watching on a widescreen TV and the channel/programme is not being transmitted in widescreen you should expect to see black areas on the left and right of the screen. This is NORMAL and is the correct way to view the picture as the programme maker intended. If you attempt to alter your TV settings to fill the full screen you may well distort the image. By stretching the left and right, the image will be squashed, objects and people reduced vertically. This is an incorrect setting. You cannot make a non widescreen broadcast fill the screen unless you stretch it which will distort it. The only other way to make it fit is to crop the top and bottom off the 4:3 image and zoom in. Though this will defeat the purpose as you then lose some of the image. In time more programmes will be shown in widescreen. Very occasionally they broadcast the wrong aspect ratio flag and then you have to adjust the setting on your TV or starview accordingly.

Can't say that its any help to me though, I still think the previous 257 was the best I have had.

Thanks Malci, but I tried the 'turn it to full screen then change the tv type from auto to PAL to NTSC and then back to auto' and it did the job.
