You are correct i personally do not have one but i have bought a few for family members and friends and look after them does it really matter weather i have one or not as i am still able to answer the questions

Next question about Drew link there is no need for everyone to have one because even if i am not on here people can still go to a page i was on and click on the link and they will be brought to the site but be my guest if you want one on your name as well put it on

Of course it does not matter. I just think it makes your long hours on the forum even more admirable.

I thought that the more people had the link the more new members would (hopefully) get the messgaqe that most of their questions can be answered at Drew's website and the downloadable helpsheet.

 

No sweat Fergus, just trying to be helpful as I know people have been crying out for it. Maybe Drew can put it on his site, I think its directly from Wizard and its aparently went through full test. I'll try it tonight and report back.

 

Word is 'it is to fix the freezing & scrambled message some are experiencing' but it is not for Clones.....

 

they said the same about v3 but that seems to be fine on clones!

 

yeh but it up to the people with clones receiver to take a gamble & put it on, then dont come come here moaning like **** , that it has gone down,

the risk is yours

also i now of a few people that have put the so call clone software on there receivers & there receivers are down

 

i'll never put it on mine! im still too scared to put v3 on it. i know everyone else is getting away wiv it but its just my luck it will kill my box!

Personally I would not trust any software "WITCH" appears to have originated from a certain retailer we all know. Especially when the 2.57 version is still working well, apart from the occasional key change.

 

Thanks for the help per previous thread,box working again. Irish new codes worked just fine.

Friend has the same starview box,it is locked on the language page.Pressing exit does not take you out. Press ok and you go the menu screen. Exit from here brings you back to language. The box does not go to a channel either,it reads on rather than 001 or whatever channel. I switched off and back on again, nothing changes.

Any idea's ?

I would not say it is a good idea if the file is from W****** as you know and all at this stage they where the one that released the 260 firmware that killed the other boxes my advice is to stay well clear of it for now anyway

 

Just another word on all these files i still cant understand what the problem is entering the codes manually is it is not rocket science it maybe takes 5 min at most to do it and still people dont want to do it the only thing the v3.00 does is autoroll and personally it is safer to enter manually because by hook or by crook sombody is going to get a dodgy file and pass it around as safe and all will be up s*** creek without a paddle better to be safe than sorry

You need to be looking at the threads and do your homework so be carefull if you decide to use anything from that other forum that is why i asked you to take the link down no other reason

 

Yep fair enough, I never had 260 on mine so I wasnt concerned with it but at least this will highlight the issue to all newcomers...

you need to select your language, when your in the main menu select installation, pick your network then auto scan, it takes about 10 mins

 

just to let all know i have had v400ee on now for 4 hrs and no scrambling or freezing whatsoever, my box is a genuine one tho,so i wouldnt reccomend it to anyone who has a clone,i know its early days and all thast but so far so good for me with 4.00 as its cured my horrendous freezing problems encountered with v300ee
