Of course you need to put the fixed 2.57eE on your box for it to autoroll. It has proved to be 100% safe so far.

Hi debic have seen you on the replay threads where you give a lot of help to others. So let me return the favour. If you go to this thread and look for Martinme's guide it will talk you through uploading to the Starview http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/4/517485.

In regards to firmware version 4 is the best for gen boxes and the fixed 2.57eE is safe for clone boxes. If you need info on clones please see the Starview info link at the end of my post. All firmware can be got here under Ryan's posts.

If you need any more info just shout.

The majority of people with clones on here and that is quite a few people have installed this onto the clone boxes. It is quite easy to do and only takes 5 minutes to do, just make sure you follow the guide word for word.

    thanks Scouser
I got all that info from the link you posted on the how to of flashing but i've scrolled through a load of pages and can't find a link to the firmware and gtrom. would you by any chance have a link or could you email it to me. It appears there can be a lot of problems with these boxes, is it as easy as the replay to flash, just don't want to completely mess up my friends box. thanks again for all your help.

No it is quite easy to update the Starview boxes as long as you know the difference between clone and genuine boxes.

Here is the loader and firmware:

The complaint was that the 2.57au file contained an "illegal" tool that allows you to watch v****n m***a for free.
The strange thing is that they never complained about the 4.00 bin file.
As I said, it was aimed at the clone firmware only, so you can only imagine where the
    complaint came from.

Hi buckymix, not sure about that. I have tried to run the gtrom loader using wine on Linux.
The program itself runs, and will load up the bin file, but didn't get it to download the file
to the sv. I wasn't able to spend much time at it, so it may be possible. Probably just
some setting on the com port. Is there something similar to wine for the mac? How about fusion, that
might do the trick to run the loader program.

Have to go out for a while, again. Back shortly.

hey guys, doing a great job, I've just installed version 4.00 onto my starview as i had 2.59 and it was starting to freeze a lot(reason it has taken so long is some of the guys said if it aint broke dont fix it.).

Anyway my question is in the nagravision section where you have your providers I see there is pol**t, this shows all Celtic games and I know pubs in the area show these is there any way I can get this provider working on my starview

I live in glasgow, but think Pols**t (not putting full name because i think your not supposed to)is a polish company, but as i say some pubs do show the games.

    Thanks for your reply
