Had 2 clone boxes killed on me this week. Dunno if it was my fault or v3.00e.

Flashed v3.00e on first one. Downloaded ok as instructed using rs232 and pc.Disconnected it from pc after switching it off from the back. When I connected it to my tv and turned the power on.....nothing...dead as a dodo.

Second one, I flashed with v2.57e first. Then updated it with v3.00e. Connected it to my tv. Worked no problem. After a few days, turned power off from socket. When I turned power on again a few hours later, box dead as a dodo also.

As I said, dunno if it was me or v.300e. Got v.300e from website stating " clone friendly" download. same version as here....I think

what you dont understand when that 260 file came out it was told only use on real boxes as it wont work on clones and it killed real boxes as well look at other forums you will have to go back a bit to find them so all though they say it is safe what is safe it has only been released and as yet early days why not let the people wait a while to see if other people on forums come back to say about it before risking putting it on there has been no code change this week and the 257 file is quite stable no freezing as well

Personally if your box is working leave it alone if you are having freezing problems put v2.57 on it that will cure your problem and is a safer bet at the moment

Thanks for that info as far as we can gather from all the return info the v3.00 is working from here on clone boxes and real but the real ones suffer freezing and no reports of any dead boxes so far thank god

 

I agree , stay with v2.57. . v3 will freeze, gets annoying after a while !

V4.00 is being tested now on genuine boxes I'll see how that goes before flashing

4 what it's worth. Downlaoded v.300e link from this forum and put them on friends and family's boxes. So far, touch wood, they're still working fine.

p.s got a origanl one and had 3.0 on it was ok but was freezing allot so put 2.57 back on it as someone suggested on here fixed it a treat thanks

No freezing probs on clones here in Belfast. But do you think I should re-flash with v2.57 just to be safe???
