Hi all just a quick one, a newbi here, recieved "thebox" yesterday(im in dublin), did a search for channels and got loads but very few are working, $ sign beside most of channels, was told to download gtrom which ive done....mow im stuck. what exactly do i need to download next? thanks a million

I just got my starview box yesterday, its the old one not "the box", I am a newb and haven't a clue how to set the thing up, is there any sort of a step by step instruction guide going around anybody can reccomend to me, thanks

 

update:i have followed the info on page 4 and downloaded 400eE and GT romv4, when i click on dowload a message comes up saying "flash update failed"?
is there something im missing? cheers

 

are you sure u have a ' null modem cable'
this could cause it not to flash.

Thanks, just checked it out, I guess its a clone so, I'm not happy, I bought it directly off starview.co.uk, does that mean it won't work at all and I've been screwed?

 

u have been screwed, but dont panic. there is clone firmware for ur box . its the 257 clone fix

When u have it plugged in to tv , what software does it say on it ?
press menu then go into system information..
