Following on from my previous post, does anyone in Dublin have the jtags gear that I could possibly have the use of to get my box back, assuming the guy won't exchange it?

Hey Steo, 400 is not on drews site, only 300 for clones and 257 for both. I was asked to take down the link for 400 so I dont know....

That Wizz**d dude has a cheek, after all he is selling the envision boxes which are dreambox clones on his site.

Hoping that someone else will take over, and start putting together some decent software for this machine, maybe we could get somebody and make donations to fund it.

 

Who actually creates or modifies the firmware, is it wizzard and if so who the hell is wizzard?

 

This is what I heard,

Wizzard satellite, commissioned a company in Asia to make a cable box with onboard nagravision decrtption, he then imports them in europe for sale, the software is designed by same company in Asia on wizzard satellites behalf. They do what he asks basically.

 

ok that makes sense to me, now I know where the problems come from...

 

make up your mind m8, as one minute you say its working fine, no it not, dont read all fourms on what people say for info , as alot of people are bitter about the software that does not work on clones receivers,

i have it on 2 of my orginal receivers from yestaday when the software cameout & it works fine, no freezing, at all, been watch the cricket all morning so far,

also it maybe that some channels do have problems from time to time,
so it will be a problem on the "cable provider boxes also",

i don't think that any issues with the v4 firmware is down to the firmware i think its at the cc end which it has been noted some people have been complaining about their subd boxes glitching as well

 

so basicily it the company in Asia the brings out the firmware to run on there own receivers, so dont blame W******,

you should blame the clone Factory for not bring out software for there own receivers to run

 

perhaps he knows who they are!!!

I never said 400 was not working on mine or that I had a clone, it is working fine but Ferg was telling me that 260 killed systems and I experience 300 freezing. I am happy with 400 at the mo but I know a bit about outsourcing software development overseas and the results are not always good.

I'm just anxious when I read various posts as we all are and I'm just trying to get as much info as I can to make informed decisions. It gets a bit touchy round here sometimes.....

 

hi m8 just type dead s/v box into *bay and you will find someone selling what you want hope this helps

 

every new software that has comeout since 260ee, v3.00ee, v4.00ee, has a chance of brick a clone receiver, thats the warning that the supplier of the firmware has said, so, dont put it on a clone receiver,

also people are just quick to blame any firmware update that is on there machine when it brakes down, anything can cause a receiver to brakedown, not hust firmware, as i have had 3 sub boxes from my cable supplier that gone down, on my 4th now , touch wood it will carry on at the sametime i have 2 orginal receivers ffor about a year now, & it has not gone down, still touching wood, it down go down as , warrent is up, so i will have to buy new receivers to caryy on watching
