Not quite as they specifically engineered the firmware to damage the other boxes, have been told that this code was put into the firmware by someone other than the original author.

 

had v400ee on now for a full day ,on my genuine starview its 100% better than the nasty v300ee. if anyone is sure they have a genuine box,then i would say take the plunge and put it on,it seems as stable as the old 257 software was,not one scrambled or bad channel sign or freeze!

 

I personnaly don't have a problem with v3 i got from here it's worked just fine so why upgrade to v4

 

you must be one of the lucky ones then druidius,most people living in the ex c+ w area have reported very poor results with v300ee , me included,i too got it off here and my box ran poorly with it,i would say the only thing it was good for for me was the auto key change-good riddance in my opinion.

 

if its working fine, then dont upgrade as v3 is working fine in alot of places, but if you have had problems with freezing like must of us, it maybe worth your while upgradeing as it v4 does not freeze

so if it arnt broke dont fix , carry on enjoy watching

 

from what i gather 300ee works well on clones but people with genuine boxes have experienced freezing and constant drop outs with it especially in ex c+ w areas,i have to say i was getting the scrambled and bad channel sign approx every 25 mins with it , and had to keep changing channels and then changing back to get the pic back, it became a major annoyance after a while. its horses for courses i suppose but this v400ee works fantastic for me , its not scrambled or froze once in the day i have had it on.so one very happy chappie here!!!!!!

 

The v3.00 on this site clearly is for clone boxes as all the feedback we have got is excellent and no freezing also no dead boxes so maybe people could only if they want and have a real box use v4.00 and the clones can use the v3.00 and everybody will be happy i hope

 

B*****KS!!.. My box literally went just now. It was(RIP)a clone box running with 300e since last week.. Feeling gutted now as was advised to flash all my boxes back to 257e and i was just too lazy(God-damn weed!-.. Oh well, now to stress out the guy who sold me it till i get another 1!!

so the v300e is ok for clones and v4 is ok for orignal also can anyu tell me how i can download the v300 only have laptop no rs323 connection is there any kind of adapter for usb port to box

 

WITKO... Read my post, had 300e on my clone box for nearly a week with no probs but today it died, wont even power up.. Id stick with 257e as the code changing seems to have calmed down... Just my opinion mate

 

Thanks bastille. I have FIXSTARVIEW-29LV160.zip. I have also found a schematic for the jtag that doesn't involve an ic, just 5x100ohm resistors.

I do have a question though. What is the TSOP file called?

Looks like different versions of v3 are available i only used the one from here been runnig it two weeks on monday with no probs

theres only 1 available, i know theres some with different filenames but thats the only difference, the contents are still the same
