flynnd this happened to me last week,moving from 2.75 to 3.00 this is how i managed to get it back up and running- assuning you cant just reflash it normally now

Connect the box to the pc with your cable but switch it off at the back. Load the correct firmware bin file into GTRom & set it to the correct com port, and select App file only then hit Download. Only then switch on at the back to power on the box. It may take a few sec. so wait at least 30 sec. (If it doesn't work 1st time try also waiting a couple of sec. to switch on after pressing download in the loader.) It may take more than 1 try to work, but eventually you'll see the loader kick in and the % bar increase. You won't see the % on the Starview though. Only green lines moving left to right. Towards the end of the flash you'll see a message in GTRom saying FLASH BURNING. Then it will reach 100% and wait for the download complete popup box to appear & the box will reboot back to factory setup. You will have lost any channel data previously on the box & will need to rescan & switch on EMU and set the box up from scratch.

If the **bleep** who sold me the clone suddenly doesnt answer my calls, where can i get 'genuine' boxes from?

i've not had a look but the links sound ok.
iv got a clone box too, but the manual keys have been working fine for a few days now.

Anybody envisage any problems before 10pm tonight? i'm away to watch the Morrison fight at my mnate's and they dont have internet. The bastrds better not be breaking tonight!

Look; my advice to anyone who is not sure what firmware to use on their clones or genuine boxes is stick to what you know for now, keep looking on this forum regularly to see how things are going. Once any new firmware has stood the test of time we will know soon enough by looking at peoples posts on here.

Patience is a virtue and all good things come to those who wait! etc.etc.

And once again to any new posters ( And this is NOT directed at you YASMIN07) who come on here in a "PANIC" Calm down and the answers are there for you if you take the time to look rather than bombarding the forum with questions that have been answered many many times before!

Hi guys really need help before my starview and my pc are launched out of a first floor window lost practically all channels did the 257 update did the codes it went down again downloaded the version 3.00ee but my gtrom loader keeps coming up with "flash update failed"!! please help a very frustrated novice ... Oh yeah cheers too

 

you may be better off doing a factory reset and then try flashing the 3.00ee on sometimes the factory reset does help

 

already done 3 factory resets and tried to upload and still won't! hence why i wanna launch it lol

just quering:

i have recently read info on (satfiles.co.uk). they say the new fixed v3.00 has been released and the programers have said it will kill clones is that true.

a few days ago was reading the forum, people were saying that v3.00 which was released than ( freezes every hour or something) was installed on clone boxes and seemed to be working fine no probs

ive found out i got a clone, now v3.00 was given to me at that point, now gtrom starts installing than stops.
do u know wat could be wrong

 

you say you have already uploaded 257 successfully so i take it your com ports are set correctly for the gt rom downloader on your computer?,if so how far through the flash does it fail? is the box actually downloading it to a certain point?

 

amjdon,i personally would stay away from 300ee if you know you have a clone,the safer option is to put 257 on and manually altering the keys, there is reports of clone boxes dying with 300ee.

 

No the download box comes up but the percentage stays on 0 then about 10 secs later it comes up flash update failed i have followed all instructions before from here and all was great til now when they changed the codes i changed mine with them and it worked for about 2 days i then read there was the 3.00ee so i downloaded it tried to update the box and got nothing do you think i shoulda gone skool to learn basic computers lol or is this not just puzzling me?

 

if you are sure your box is genuine then maybe try downloading 300ee again you may have a corrupt file,also again only if your box is genuine and not a clone then there is the new v400ee to try,its fine on my genuine box but definitely not reccomended for clones
