just checked all codes should be fine have you done a scan recently i once did a scan and for some reason without me going into secret menu my emu turned its self of worth a look m8

 

went down on me in Dublin, just went into the codes and restored them seems to have done the job

 

I would like to thank jobbers for the the link he pm me yesterday for the v400ee firmware.Working great since last night no probs thank you.

 

Still going STRONG on v3.00ee guys and gals - and no adverse reports from my daughter about her viewing being interrupted. Someone out there luvs us?! ;-p

 

did he sell you the receiver as clone or a orginal

if sold as a orginal , he has to fix them free of charge or replace them under the 12 month warrenty, as you would have never brought a clone off him others , so basic he has misled you , (also be as craftey as them & say you have the firmware on the receiver as it came & done no update on it)thats if it completely dead

 

If your cloned box has died ie no lights on at all it can be revived using a jtag they can be built for little money if any and a little time i have recovered 4 boxes so far using this method all working fine and now running older firmware version 3 so called clone friendly killed them inside a week i have a helpfile to build and use them if its required ??????if the mods here want to check it out first gimme a shout before i post a link

 

Hi All, sorry I've been away for the last few days.... update time some of you may have read my post early last week on the old thread..
turns out i had clones, V3 killed one within hours the other died earlier today about 9 days after update, i seen the links to the pages for how to id a clone, the thing i have notice is on the 1st gen there is a coulpe of rows of pins on the top right hand side of the motherboard, where with the clones this is a series of holes, hope this helps....

Just an update on my progress wi a clone i beleive, api ver 3.00eE may 2007 boot ver. All seems sound it does give me bad channel now & again but does not do the % update thing as it was doing b4 using the null modem cable, i dont turn it off so the heating up is not a prob just my carbon footprint, but hey george bush will love me for that !! (@ssh0le). any new info that could be useful to me guys ? cheers, Omni.

 

if your using V3 on a clone trust me it will die i have had 4 today all updated with V3 1 week ago all totally dead i managed to revive them using the jtag method all are now running version 2.58

 

I bought four boxes last month and suspected them as clones right off but the seller I bought them from on e-bay sent me 257 software and tried to assure me they were first generation and it was the new later software that was the problem. I got fed up with his bullshit and put the 3.00 software in one of the boxes ten days ago as an eperiment. I also have a genuine larger second generation box that has been working on 260 then the 3.00 version of the software for months now and not a problem but the clone died a death yesterday. The other three boxes I have from the batch of four clones are still untouched... I'll be expecting a refund on at least the three and will want some kind of non-bullshitty explanation from seller about the state of the fourth... Can someone tell me if its okay to name and shame on this forum because I'm mad as hell at the way we get treated by some of these so-called legit e-bay sellers. I'm not into witch hunts but some of these unscupulous people need to be exposed... There is a need for us to know the difference between them and the genuine sellers who want to give their customers an honest deal. Sorry for the long-winded retoric folks but I'm damned annoyed, not just about the damaged good I received but the constant nonsense I endured from the seller...

 

gladface, I can identify with your feelings. But looks like experience is the best form of attack. Enough has been said on here and other forums concerning clone sellers etc. Just hope someone else can be fore-warned before they make the same mistake as me, you and many more poor punters.

Maybe mods can arrange a list that people can access privately instead of being put on this forum or somone else who has the know how could do it.

Now we know better we can do better in future.

No matter what reasonable excuse I come up with concerning dead boxes and their causes, my dealer WILL always state that he never endorsed putting any other file on the boxes, other than the file he supplied with the boxes. If I send the boxes back and look for a refund or request he jtag them. He will SEE that the file he sent me originally is not on the box.

No matter what, he HAS the upper hand.

If anyone would like the name of my dealer for their own reference, they can pm me.

I've ordered jtag leads. Should be here Mon or Tues. My sons friend is going to jtag my dead boxes. Will pass on info on how he does it then.
