That happened with me, bought something from fleabay and was ripped off , but got money back within a few weeks via the resolution centre , only thing is paypal will still take their cut regardless of it being a legit deal or a scam !

 

I would stick with the 257 for now cause it seems to be working fine !

vm cant do that! its the firmware that kills clones. your box must be a clone & you must have either 260, 300 or 400 firmware

 

put version 4 on 2 starviews this afternoon no probs in 4 hours

 

V4.00 probably ok but if the codes are staying the same why change, Just my opinion . 257 has been tried and tested.

 

genuine starviews can take any firmware so just put on which ever you prefer. 300 would be ok but i dont know what the differences are between 300 & 400 so 400 could be even better

 

still connected for broadband,me mothers just round the corner is going ok and she`s not even a customer,she had sky which has been cancelled

 

must be a cable / connection problem!

HEEELLLPPP FLASHED MY BOX AND ALL IVE GOT NOW IS A BOX WITH FLASHING LIGHTS ON THE FRONT CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

i flashed mine back the other day and it worked but maybe i was lucky lol

 

Just reflash and this time wait till it is completely finished even when you see 100% it is not finshed for another 30 to 60 seconds until computer tells you process compleat also put your box in standby before flashing

 

jarrad,this happens if you dont wait until the download finish sign comes up,,usually about 20 secs after 100% is reached on the gt rom downloader,its no major problem,just hook your box back up to the comp and reflash

 

FLASHED MINE AND ITS FINE BUT TRYED TO PUT V4 ON MY MA'S AND ITS JUST LIKE THE BOX IS PERMENANTLY SCANNING THE LIGHTS JUST KEEP ROLLING ACROSS THE BOX WHERE ARE ALL THE WHIZZ'S WHEN YOU NEED THEM
