Hi! Got my starview box working in Dublin once again, but the visuals are way behind the audio, if you know what I mean! Is there any way to fix this?

I’m having problems connecting my starview box to my pc. I’m am trying to update to 4,00 using the rs232(female to female) cable supplied with the box but can’t find the place to connect it on my computer. Would it be strange not to have one as the pc is only a few months old? There is a 15 pin one on the back so do I have to get an adapter to change them over? If someone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. thanks

 

if there is no port you will have to buy a usb rs232

 

any ideas wats going wrong with da boxes there losing audio

We all ready have links on this forum to the loader and other software that we know is safe could you remove your links as you will have people on these threads mixed up about what links to use thanks

 

That must be a vga connection have a look up in the corner of the computer beside the power cord

 

To get back sound on e4 sky1 ect just select the channel in question press menu, select installation, select manual scan, click ok on down frequency. It'll now scan for channels when its finished exit back to normal tv viewing screen go to the end of your channel listing and the desired channel will be there with sound. This can be done on any channel with no sound by just selecting that channel following the instructions above.

no nothing there ferq. have a new laptop aswell and nothing on that either. have an old pc that deosn't start and that has one on the back of it.

hello all,
is there any way of knowing if the box i have is a clone ??. i want to upgrade the software to 4.0 but from previous quotes i see that the 4.0 software will kill clones. do you just take the chance ??

Just looking for a little help to respond to a seller, his previous emails is above. He then wrote to me saying we will exchange them for new ones and i asked if he would guarantee that he supplies a genuine one and not a clone, his response was as follows (so he is admitting to me now that yes he was selling clones but at price of original ones - do i have a leg to stand on with Resolution Centre, his emails go very smart and nasty. Only reason we got them in first place is to boost our signal - i stupidly still pay cable & skky!


sure do so. But remember i never claimed that it was an ORIGINAL no where in my listing thank you! Also item has been used for over 30 days now it's gone off.....it was working it's not now due to software problem which was expected. If there were no risk in buying these boxes why would one not buy from dixon's or curry's or pc world with warratny... thats becoz ppl do this to watch illegal channels!! Although we clearly do not support and advice for people that if they do so it's on their own risk!

although he did not say in his add it was a clone he himself knows if he did no one would buy so he still mislead you into believing he was selling merchantable goods as to weather or not it is legal or not that is not for him to say and to the 30 warranty this means nothing as you get a 12months warranty on any big purchase and you cannot buy the box in any curry's or Dixon's store it is not illegal to use or watch freeview but when the codes are changed then the freeview channels some of them are missing so that is why you update so you can still avail of your freeview channels

Also dont drop your case with paypal tell them you either want a replacement or a full refund
