First thanks to every1 on thread... Ive been reading for hours trying to get my box to work... Finally its on.. Ive flashed to 257 and manually inputted codes.. My question is. Will I have to keep manually inputting new codes every time it goes off?? (that is if it does continue to go off)

only update if its a genuine box, clones only work with 257 & 259 which dont update

Cheers... From the guide on drewish1.co.uk it looks like a genuine box.. am I risking putting myself back to square 1 by flashing to version 4.00?? will it kill my box?? and should I be able to reflash back to 257 and manually input codes to get it back on if i have probs... soo many questions sorry!

The codes have not changed in dublin yet and try the v4 from this forum site link under my name rather than off a site we do not know you dont know what else you are downloading to your pc

you should be safe with a genuine box but if your unsure then stick to 257 or 259, when the codes need changing either flash with v3 or v4, then flash back to 257or 259. this will do the codes for you.

ferg, i put that theory of mine to the test, i was wrong, it didnt work! i altered a 257 file, new version 7.50 & date 25.12.2008 but it failed to flash, it got to 100%, then download complete but then i just got the knight rider lights! well i suppose if i couldnt do it then these hackers that know how to rename files wont be able to do it

it worked last time the codes changed but i got a pm saying that its broke so i set default key and it would't get the keys it stayed at 0%.just to let you guys no.just incase ntl change the codes and we all expect it to autoupdate

Mikey the flashing lights could be down to a bad flash did you try it again to check if it was

    Ryan

We have had no other reports of anybody saying that the v4 did not autoroll where did he get the software from as the sites you have up could have a dodgy one the one we have here on this site works as i have it on mine with no problems

Would anyone be in a position to send me firmware 3.00 for the Starview box or perhaps post a link. Can't find it anywhere.

Hi there, thanks for getting back to me. I tried that site but it does not include ver 3.00 for some reason. No worries though, I will keep scouring.
