Hi! I have a movie file that is 1.7 GB in size. Is their a way to split the movie into TWO, so I can burn them onto CDR's?

    Thank You

1.7GB/2 = 870MB's per disc though and you can only cut at keyframes.

Try VirtualDubMod, which is definatly free.

The problem is that a 80' CD-R can keep only up to 830 MB of mpeg (Video CD), but only 700 MB of AVI (Data CD).
    max room = 360,000 * 2048 bytes ('cooked' data) [bold]MODE1/2048[/bold]
    max room = 360,000 * 2336 bytes (movie) [bold]MODE2/2336[/bold]
max room = 360,000 * 2352 bytes (raw data, like CD images) [bold]MODE1/2352[/bold]

You can burn an avi mode2 form2 if you want. Wouldn't recommend it for avi's though as they don't handle errors well.
