Can anyone tell me why some 120min movies can fit into a single DVD-R (4.38G) without compression, but other 80min movies (such as View from the Top) has file size more than 4.38G (only the main movie).

    ck747,
It all depends on how the Movie was done. Think Disney and all of the animation that goes into the DVD. That takes up kb's for each layer that is added to each single frame ( color, movement, shading etc.). I am not familiar w/ that movie but if a lot of action sequences are added w/ special effects then that will take up more .kb's
