I'm having problems figuring out how to copy movies to my hard drive. I just want my xbox to be a true media center and it just isnt complete without movies.
I have Avalaunch, DVD2XBOX, XBMC, XBMP, pretty much everything, do I need to rip it onto my computer as an ISO then ftp it over, or is there a way i can just use the xbox to do it? Thanks in advance for any help on the issue....

do you mean movies as in DVD's or movies as in movie files?
if u mean dvds, what i would do is rip the dvd's with the computer then convert them to movie files (mpg, avi ect) then ftp them over.

ok i have dvd decrypter and i sucessfully made an ISO, but im not sure what format is the best (pic quality and such, as size is not an issue) or what program to use to convert it, and... well basically im new at the whole xbox movie thing and i really just need someone to hold my hand through the thing, except of course the whole ripping to an ISO part, Im oblivious to the rest of the procedure. So i would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me or direct me to a guide or tut...

I used DVD2XBOX to rip my Walking Tall movie, then I used XBMC and load the movie from there. Only problem was about a 1/3 way in the picture froze, only the sound was still playing.

Okay ive ftp'd the ISO made from DV decrypter to my xbox and played it with xbmc, it works but the picture has a black frame all the way around it making my 65 inch tv only display the movie on a 40 inch frame, and there are subtitles that I REALLY dont want, if anyone knows of a better way to do this so I get a DVD quality picture without the subtitles, that would be friggin awesome...

I first started FTPing DivX movies but now that I know better, I just use DVDShrink 3.2 and burn the movie to a DVD-R and play on the Xbox. DVD2Xbox takes over 20 mins. to rip a movie and you'll have difficulty watching TV DVD's that have more than one episode on the disk. Not so with DVDShrink 3.2 found in the software section of this site.
