If you convert them to a super video cd or video cd and your home dvd player supports it.

okay cowtip, start out trying AVI2vcd to start with to encode your avi to vcd format. then use nero to burn. You should get something that will play in your dvd player assumeing its vcd compliant. Can't say how great the video or audio will be depends on your source avi quality. Maybe that will help?

cowtip if u wanna watch those downloaded films in your DVD player then do the above
however, if u just wish to burn them on to CD and watch them on ur comp jus burn then using 700Mb CD-r it can overburn up to 735 (pushin it)
and watever you do remember to burn on 8x its guaranteed to burn correct (well kinda guaranteed lol)
if u can burn at 4x then do
use any program u want i use NERO 5.5
