This is driving me crazy...my car stereo plays mp3s but whenever I make one with whole albums I've ripped, it either alphabetizes or just mixes up the songs so they don't play in their original order. Is there a program that allows me to organize mp3s into folders, sort them by track number, and burn them so that they will play back in the correct order? I've been trying all sorts of shareware progs and Roxio 5 that came loaded on my PC. Please help me before somebody gets hurt.

YES, there are many programs that can solve you problem.

But honestly, I'd really hate to tell you what they are, just in case one of us gets hurt.

very funny. I was obviously joking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Nero doesn't let me put the damn songs in order either.

when you burn a CD in nero, create separate folders on the CDR and drag the individual albums to each of those folders

yeah but the songs are still going to be alphabetized instead of in order by track...I guess I have to rename my files (thousands of them :( )

    @ eyeh8god

If all your MP3 files have the track number written into the ID3 tag then a program like tag and rename can rename all your files at once with the track number in the file name.

The track number is already in the filename. What sucks is that it is at the END of each filename. Can that program put it at the beginning or am I just sh*t out of luck? This is a very annoying problem. I wish there was a burning program that read the tags and not the filenames before the burn.

like weazel mentioned above, use tag&rename to batch rename your mp3 files (one album at a time) so that the track number is at the beginning of the filename, which should help your mp3 player figure out the order of the album...

    @ eyeh8god

Yes tag & rename can be configured to put the track number at the start of the file name

or if you want the longest way to do it:

    put something like: 001(before song1)
    002(before song2)
    003 etc
    004 etc

before each song in order of the way you want them to play and bingo nero will burn them like that.
