I brought a MP4 from Japan about 8 months ago, all was fine, until yesterday. I went to plug in the usb cable to copy some music, and then it says Drive E not formatted, do you want to format, this has never happened before its also a 4GB (and says its got only 1.90GB) and then either says FAT32 or FAT.

If i say quick format, its says that it will erase all my data, is this correct, as i have nearly 500 songs on it, and don't want to have to start all over again.

Please help. This is the 1st time this has happened.
    Thanking you in advance

Your player isn't really 4gb but a hacked 2gb mp4 player.I suggest that you save everything and then format your player.Instructions can be found here.
I guarantee that this will fix your player.
