    Hi all,

    I'm a little confused here.
As far as I understand, DivX is a codec. An AVI file is a container which includes Video and Audio. Can I find in an AVI file an other codec that DivX? If so, which one?
What about MPEG4? Is it a codec? What is the difference between MPEG4 and DivX?
    What about H.263?

mpeg4 is a standard. i know this isn't the correct description, but its the easiest way to explain it.

you can find xvid in avi.

    never used h263.
but never tried h264 and avi, i only use matroska nowadays.
